Low-cost android robot kit for fun and serious experiments no chapters
ANDROID ROBOT KITS
My students and I have developed a low-cost Android Robot Racing Car kit (less than US$130). The kit can be used by students to develop computer vision and automated driving algorithms, and ultimately to develop a system that can drive wheelchairs for disabled people.

Robotics Interest Group
The Android Robot Car Kit costs less than US$150 and the LipoPack kit costs less than US$110, but those can be used to test driving software that can potentially drive real cars. An android phone has built-in GPS, camera, and motion sensors. The phone is sophisticated enough to process visual, location, and motion information for real-time driving of unmanned crafts. They are perfect testing kits for advanced artificial intelligence, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms.
If you are interested in participating annual Android car racing competitions or purchasing the kit, please let us know. We will organize bulk purchases for cheaper kits. If you are interested in using the kit for research and education in your institutes, please contact us as well. Please join our robotics interest group by simply registering on this website.
