In particular, as the innovation of technology, and especially smartphone with the camera, it has open a new era of applications. One of the most popular categories of mobile applications is for health related issues. We propose a method for capturing and analyzing face images of patients to provide the on-time diagnosis of various health problems, such as facial palsy, flu, cold, pneumonia, skin cancer, and stroke. In particular, we extract non-identifying features such as imbalances in facial features, such as edges of eyelash, mouth, and nose. This approach is promising because other researcher’s experiments have proved that we can have 100% detection rate and 93% feature points detection rate for expressionless faces. We will verify the proposed approach using clinical data collected from hospitals. The training data can be collected legally by contacting directly the patients to ask for the data. We are very confident that people will be happy to share if they know they will help future generation or help other people for not being so sick as they are. The trusted data will be collected directly from the hospital or clinic with owners’ permission. This paper details the problem, the proposed solutions for sooner diagnostic health issues, especially facial palsy related sickness, experimental methods, and research plan. To improve the performance of emotional faces feature extraction, we proposed to use the Gentle Boost Classifier with RBM (Restricted Boltzmann Machine) and Gabor filter to extract facial feature points to store in the data warehouse.
The proliferation of social networks and its use in education and higher learning have become an interesting topic. In order to accommodate diverse student cohorts in the age of massification of education market, this approach has become attractive. Recent advances in learning analytics and data visualization further proved to be useful in encouraging collaborative learning. On the other hand, information on social networks can be too complex to visualize of- ten overloading users with too much possibly unwanted information. The question is what to show and what not to show when we visualize social relation- ships of users. In this paper, we propose a new visualization model called learn- ing space and develop a method for visualizing learning activities on the social network in a 3D virtual learning space. We evaluate the method using questionnaires to see whether visualization of social relations of learning will improve the learning in the following ways or not: make it more fun, make it easier, motivate more. The result shows that our method of visualization of learning activities in the social network made learning more fun and easier. The result also shows that it helps the student engage and motivate on the subjects.
This is my bachelor thesis about using CMUSphinx as a framework to build a JAVA application which is able to do the speech recognization for Vietnamese.
