Compare Sides in Basic Shapes

This chapter will have children learn about basic shapes. Each shape comes with a number of sides. See if children can compare the number of sides in each shape.
This comparing game activity chapter serves as a test of students’ knowledge about basic shapes. Using the “greater than”, “less than” and “equal” signs, students must compare the number of sides in two given shapes in a question. There are also a few new basic shapes introduced in this comparing game activity. After the end of this activity, the teacher can show those new basic shapes to students and describe them in short.
This game can be played with the following in class activities:
213 Sides of Shapes Prepare basic shapes cut-outs. Ask children to count how many sides each of the shapes have? Encourage them to record on the paper, for example: “Triangle has 3 sides.” For the beginner they can draw the shape instead of writing or prepare worksheet; ______ has ____ sides.
246 Group The Shapes Collect pictures of shapes, such as; clock, slice of pizza, donuts, etc. Put them on the tray. Then, prepare a chart. Divide into columns of different shapes. Let your child differentiate each pictures and ask them to put the picture according to the shape.
