Compare Vehicles by Speed: Moving Fast and Slow
Author: Docentron (J)
In this chapter, children will be able to learn about vehicles, and how fast they can go. Can they compare two vehicles to determine which of the two is the faster one?
There are a variety of vehicles found in daily life. Each of them has different speed. In this comparing game activity chapter, students have the chance to identify the vehicles and study their speed. Students are provided five questions for each level. Each of these questions has two different vehicles which have to be compared by their speed. For this, there are five notation signs which students must put between the two vehicles in a question.
Two new phrases used for comparing speed is introduced here: “faster than” and “slower than”.
This game can be used with the following in class activities:
117 Moving Fast and Slow. Kindergarten 1. Term 1. Week 6, 7 Play slow music. Encourage the children to move to the music by taking huge, soft giant steps. Another way to move very slowly is to sway like a branch blowing in the breeze. For a faster movement, play brisk music and suggest hopping in place, running on tiptoes or moving arms rapidly. This game helps children acquire the concepts of fast and slow.
